This is Lily, but don't let her frosty face fool you!
She's a very energetic 10-year-old and sweet as she can be. She loves to explore the outdoors and will need a very secure fenced-in yard. Her prey drive is very much alive and well so her new owner would need to be dachshund savvy. She loves going on walks and loves everyone she meets. That little tail never stops wagging! She will follow you around everywhere you go in the house and when you sit down she will happily lay beside you or in your lap. She's a fan of sleeping in the Big Bed with her human and gets along well with her foster-home sister.
Lily came to rescue after being picked up as a stray by a Good Samaritan. She lost all of her teeth when she had her denta but that doesn't stop her from eating well on a diet of softened kibble or canned food. She is currently on a diet to lose a couple of pounds but as energetic as she is, that shouldn't take too long.
She's only been with her foster family a few days but settled in as if she had lived there for years. She responds well to commands and has been doing great with going potty outside. She doesn't seem to know the mechanics of a dog door so she just scratches on it to go out or lets her foster mommy know some other way that she needs to go out. We are working on that.
