Gracie is a very timid girl who is still learning to feel safe in the world. She does exhibit fear-based aggression, and while her foster has been working with her for a couple of weeks and is seeing progress, it is coming along slowly. Gracie is comfortable being gently petted by her foster, but she still attempts to bite when being picked up.
Gracie will need a very patient, understanding adopter who is committed to helping her build confidence at her own pace. Continued, thoughtful socialization with people will be essential to her long-term success, and her future home should be prepared to work with her on this.
She does well with other dogs. She has been making progress with potty training, but she will still need time and effort to adjust.
Due to her fear-based biting, Gracie must be placed in a home with no children and no frequent visits from children. This requirement is non-negotiable.
With time, patience, and the right environment, Gracie has the potential to continue making positive strides. She just need someone willing to help her feel comfortable and confident.
