Meet Biscuit!  Fostered in Memphis

Biscuit is a beautiful 6-year-old blonde dachshund with soulful eyes and a gentle spirit. Before coming to rescue, Biscuit spent her life as a breeder dog and never received the socialization that most dogs experience as puppies. Because of this, she is very shy and fearful of people.

Biscuit is not the type of dog who will run up to greet you, climb in your lap, or ask for cuddles. In fact, she may spend weeks or even months keeping her distance while she learns that she is finally safe. Her adopter must understand that earning Biscuit’s trust will take patience, consistency, and absolutely no expectations.

What Biscuit does love is the companionship of other dogs. She gains confidence from having a friendly canine companion and would do best in a home with another calm, well-adjusted dog to show her the ropes. Watching her interact with other dogs is where her sweet personality truly shines.

Because Biscuit is fearful and can be easily startled, a securely fenced yard is required. She is not a candidate for apartment living or homes that rely solely on leash walks. Her forever family will need to provide a safe environment where she can explore and build confidence at her own pace.

Biscuit may never become a dog who seeks out affection, but she deserves a family who will love her exactly as she is. The right home will find joy in watching her take small steps forward, celebrate her victories, and give her the chance to experience the life she has always deserved.

If you have a patient heart, a fenced yard, and a friendly dog looking for a companion, Biscuit may be the perfect addition to your family.
